Crime Victim and Witness Notification Advisory Committee Meetings
The Attorney General's Office has made it a priority to provide a variety of services to help crime victims. The office has various programs and resources administered by the Violence Prevention and Crime Victim Services Division to assist victims, which includes the Illinois VINE System (Victim Information and Notification Everyday).
The Crime Victim and Witness Notification Advisory Committee (AVN Committee) was created in 1999 to assist the Office of the Illinois Attorney General in the implementation of the Illinois VINE system. The IL-VINE provides victims with a website or toll-free number they can access for up-to-date information on the custody and/or case status of an offender.
The Committee is charged with evaluating the operation of the system and reporting its activities and status to the General Assembly each year.
